Lupine Protein

Description: Hydrolyzed protein from the seeds of the lupine plant (lupinus) which are high in proteins and contain 35-45% of all the essential amino acids. Lupine cultivation goes way back to ancient Egypt and Greece. Clear yellow to amber liquid, faint herbal odor, water soluble. CAS# not available.

INCI Name: Lupine protein.

Properties: Lupine protein contains a high amount of essential amino acids which provide many benefits and treatment options in the fight against premature aging. Good anti-static, regenerating and conditioning properties.

Use: Add to formulas use as is, usual concentration 2 - 40 %.

Application: Skin and hair care products, sun care & after-sun products, scalp treatments.

Zinc Oxides: Which One is Right for You?

Regular zinc oxide has a particle size of >200 nm (nanometer), a visible whitening effect on the skin, is water dispersible, gives great coverage in makeup products and lip balms, and offers good protection in baby care products.
Micronized zinc oxide has a particle size of <200nm (mean 86nm), has a minimal whitening effect on the skin, is water dispersible, offers superior sun protection but does not offer coverage in makeup products.
Micronized zinc oxide coated with silicone offers basically the same features as non-coated micronized zinc oxide but is easier to disperse in oils, and works well in formulas containing carbomers.
