Description: High-purity extract from the Swiss alpine flower Edelweiss (leontopodium alpinum). Eco-certified for natural and/or organic products. Active ingre-dients: bisabolane, sitosterol, tannin, chlorogenic acid, apigenin-7-glucoside, luteolin, luteolin-4-glucoside. Preserved with vegetal glycerin, butylenglycol, ethanol. Very high radical scavenging activitiy of antioxidant products of 286 (= Radical Protection Factor, RPF). Antioxidant activity twice as much as vitamin C. Clear dark brown liquid, faint plant odor. Easily water-soluble. CAS# 391900-47-3, 56-81-5.

INCI Name: Leontopodium alpinum extract.

Properties: Potent antioxidant with very effective anti-aging, anti-inflammatory & anti-septic properties, protects the skin before & after sun exposure. Together with sun-filters skin protection is enhanced further.

Use: Add to formulas as is, use level: 3 - 5%.

Applications: Anti-aging & anti-wrinkle products, pre/after sun lotions, hydrating / antioxidant skin care treatments, eye wrinkle treatment.

Zinc Oxides: Which One is Right for You?
Regular zinc oxide has a particle size of >200 nm (nanometer), a visible whitening effect on the skin, is water dispersible, gives great coverage in makeup products and lip balms, and offers good protection in baby care products.
Micronized zinc oxide has a particle size of <200nm (mean 86nm), has a minimal whitening effect on the skin, is water dispersible, offers superior sun protection but does not offer coverage in makeup products.
Micronized zinc oxide coated with silicone offers basically the same features as non-coated micronized zinc oxide but is easier to disperse in oils, and works well in formulas containing carbomers.
