Description: High-molecular weight (MW 1200 kD) nonpolar polymer oil (isobutylene polymer), mineral oil substitute. Clear viscous liquid, no odor. Insol-uble in water, miscible with oils. CAS# 8001-31-8.

INCI Name: Hydrogenated polyisobutene.

Properties: Emollient & moisturizer (especially where viscosity is needed as e.g. lip gloss), repairs skin suppleness, prevents water loss, easily emulsifiable, disperses pigments for color cosme-tics, ensures SPF retention in sunscreens, shine enhancer for lipsticks, improves spreadability of creams, non-irritant, non-comedogenic, non-greasy.

Use: Can be added to formulas as is, usual final concentration 1-50%.

Application: Hydrating & cleansing creams, color cosmetics (e.g. lipsticks), deodorants, sunscreen products, acne creams, baby care products, hair relaxers, shaving gels.
