Description: High-viscosity (MW 800 kD) nonpolar polymer oil (liquid isoparaffin, propane-2-methyl-homopolymer), mineral oil substitute. Clear liquid, no odor. Insoluble in water, soluble in oils. CAS# 40921-86-6, 61693-08-1.

INCI Name: Hydrogenated polyisobutene.

Properties: Excellent emollient & moisturizer (especially where viscosity & thickness is needed: e.g. lip gloss), restores skin suppleness, prevents water loss (waterproofing agent), easily emulsifiable, pigment dispersing agent for color cosmetics, enhances SPF retention in sunscreens, shine enhancer for lipcare products, improves spreadability of creams, non-comedogenic, non-irritant, non-greasy, for soft feel.

Use: Can be added to formulas as is, usual final concentration 1-50%.

Applications: Hydrating creams, after shave balms, antiperspirants, color cosmetics, acne creams, hair grooms, sunscreen products, lipsticks, hair relaxers, baby care, cleansing creams, shaving gels.
