Description: USDA Certified Organic. Natural extract from the Horehound plant (Marrubium Vulgare L., Lamiaceae) which belongs to the mint family. It has anti-histaminic & anti-inflammatory effects, helps with wound healing, and has antimicrobial properties. It’s a valuable ingredient for irritated skin and after-sun care. Yellow-brown liquid, characteristic odor, pH 4.3. Water-soluble. CAS# 56-81-5, 7732-18-5, 84696-20-8.

INCI Name: Marrubium vulgare extract.

Properties: Soothes irritated and inflamed skin (e.g. from sun exposure), but helps also soothe other skin irritations and blemishes (e.g. after shaving).

Use: Add to aqueous phase of formulas (creams, lotions, gels etc) or add at the end of the formulation process. Typical use level is 1-3%. Can be processed either warm (<60oC) or cold and is typically incorporated at the end of a cosmetic formulation, it is stable in the pH-range of 4.0-7.0. For external use only.

Application: Formulations for the sensitive skin, protective day care products for irritated and stressed skin, wound healing formulations, after-sun products, after-shave products.
