Manufacture: Decyl glucoside is produced by the reaction of glucose from corn starch with the fatty alcohol decanol which is derived from coconut. Cocamidopropyl hydroxysultaine is made by reacting sodium bisulfite and epichlorohydrin with fatty acids from coconut oil (mainly lauric acid) to give the sodium salt. Sodium lauroyl sarcosinate is produced by reacting sarcosine, which is a breakdown product of creatine or caffeine, with fatty acids such as coconut acid and oleic acid.
