Description: Emulsifying blend for making oil-in-water emulsions. Contains glyceryl stearate (60%), cetearyl alcohol (25%), sodium stearoyl lactylate (15%). Off-white waxy flakes. Water-insoluble, dispersible in water & oil. pH Value: 5–7.5. HLB value 10-11.

Manufacture: Cetearyl alcohol is a mixture of the fatty alcohols cetyl alcohol and stearyl alcohol which are made by catalytic hydrogenation of the triglycerides obtained from vegetable and coconut oils and followed by oxidation of a chain growth product of ethylene oligomerized on a triethylaluminum catalyst. Glyceryl stearate is made by reacting glycerin with stearic acid, a fatty acid obtained from soy oil.
