Both Ceramid complex and
Lacto-ceramide have similar properties as they
incorporate ceramides back into the skin or hair shaft thereby regenerating the
connective tissue. Lacto-ceramide contains only one ceramide (ceramide 3) and is
incorporated into liposomes (small spherical particles made of phospholipids
where the ceramide is packed in) which improve and accelerate skin absorption.
Liposomes also provide a good moisturizing effect. Ceramide complex on the other
hand consists of various ceramides and at higher concentrations mimicking better
the skin's natural content of ceramides.
