Description: Consists of the active Retinol, diluted in Polysorbate 20 and stabilized with potent antioxidants (BHT and BHA). Can be used in various cosmetic emulsions. Viscous yellow liquid. Oil-soluble. Not water soluble. Sensitive to air, light and humidity, refrigerated storage (
<15°C) required. May crystalize at lower temperatures, can be re-dissolved in unopened container <50°C.

Manufacture: Retinol is produced synthetically by the reduction of a pentadiene derivative to form retinal which is then converted to retinol through acidification and hydrolysis. Retinol is then stabilized with BHT and BHA and dissolved in polysorbate 20.

SDS For California Customers: Under California's Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, better known as OEHHA Prop 65, we are required to place a warning to this product since the OEHHA believes that retinol/retinyl esters may cause reproductive harm (e.g. interference in female/male reproduction or embryonal development), when used in daily dosages in excess of 10,000 IU or 3,000 retinol equivalents. Importantly, retinol/retinyl esters are still required and essential for maintenance of normal reproductive function. Recommended daily level during pregnancy is 8000 IU.
